Short and without tricks: what Golden Set is, what we answer for, and what you and the club answer for.
What this is
Golden Set brings together tennis players of a similar level, keeps their matches and rating, shows the free hours at clubs, and runs tournaments. It is free to use.
Your account
One account, one person. Do not pass yourself off as somebody else and do not share access. What happens under your account is your responsibility.
We may block an account for faking results, abuse in chats, or attempts to game the rating. It is a rare measure, but a necessary one: a rating means something only while people believe it.
Matches and rating
One player enters the score, the other confirms it. An unconfirmed score closes itself after 72 hours. The rating is calculated by the server under rules that are published openly, and no client can change it.
Deliberately entering false results is grounds to take the points back and to block the account.
Court bookings
The court belongs to the club, and the arrangement to play is between you and the club. We show the free hours and pass the booking on; the price, the cancellation rules, no-shows and access to the grounds are the club’s to set.
A club may cancel a booking — weather, repairs, its own tournament. We will tell you in the app, with the club’s phone number. The reason is for the club to give.
Tournaments
A tournament is run by a club or an organiser, not by us. They decide who is admitted and they answer for how it is run. An entry does not mean a place until the organiser confirms it.
Money
The app takes no payments at present: you pay the club directly for a court and for a tournament entry. When payment inside the app arrives, the refund rules will be written out separately and before you can pay anything.
Liability
Tennis is a physical activity and you play at your own risk. We do not inspect courts, we are not a party to your arrangements with other players, and we do not answer for what happens on court.
The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it running but do not promise it never stops.
Changes
These terms may change. We will say so in the app when the change matters.
